I hadn’t watched the Mtv Video Music Awards when it aired here in Brazil. There is always some preparation and a whole week of the best moments of the VMAs, but this year, there wasn’t much of that, and I ended up missing it this year. If I had known that Christina Aguilera was making her comeback through this year’s VMAs, I would have watched it from beginning to end, like how I did when I discovered she was performing at the 2006 VMAs.
As most of us know, Christina had just had her baby, Max Liron (The name means”Our Greatest Song” In Hebrew), and is gaining back her form slowly, the natural way, but she looks beautiful, her rock look with the long, straight platinum blonde hair with the bangs and the beautiful eyeliner makes this my favorite look of hers since her Stripped album. She stated in an interview with Ellen how she gets bored easily and is always trying something new to renew her look.
Christina is coming back full throttle this year and next year since the release of her DVD Back To Basics: Live and Down Under, released in February. For November, she’ll be releasing her first compilation album, Keeps Gettin’ Better – A Decade Of Hits. The album will include all her hits, including the single Lady Marmalade, featuring Pink, Mya and Lil’ Kim. The compilation will also include 2 new tracks (Keeps Gettin’ Better and Dynamite) and 2 fresh remakes of her hits Genie In A Bottle and Beautiful. The single for Keeps Gettin’ Better has been released since September the 9th.
The track listing for the compilation will be as follows:

Christina Aguilera is also releasing her fourth studio album in 2009. She says it’ll have an influence from Tokyo, for she loves the city. It’s going to be great! Japan, pop culture and Christina Aguilera all in one? What more could I wish for? She’s also going to come back to her initial pop beats and it’s clear that once again, she’s working on her look for this album!
These past months have been really nostalgic for me, and they have even brought me to watching all 3 seasons of Cardcaptor Sakura all over again for the first time since 2nd grade. I have also been inspired by the huge fan club of ex-Sailor Moon fans in my class, so yesterday I went even more back in time and decided to watch a little bit of Sailor Moon! I hate watching things from the middle to the end, so I began with Sailor Moon Classic, the first season, and one that I had never watched before because it never aired on Toonami when I watched it. Every time I watch one episode, I always want to get to Sailor Moon R and Sailor Moon S because I loved these seasons, they were the best (Sailor Moon R because it was the season I first watched when I began watching Sailor Moon in CartoonNetwork’s Toonami and Sailor Moon S because it’s my favorite season!). I used to be completely addicted to the series, and it even brought me to sing its theme song in the talent show we had in 2002, when I was in second grade. Sailor Moon was really big here in Brazil for anyone and I bet that there are certainly many girls with photographs of them dressed up as Serena (Usagi). I used to love Serena because she was so much like me, clumsy, dramatic, everything, even our blood type is the same! (O+) But still, my favorite senshi has to be Sailor Uranus for so many reasons!
First, we are basically the same. As a matter of fact, when she’s not dressed up as Sailor Uranus, she acts and dresses like a boy. Her birthdate is January 27th (It’s weird when I write this way about an anime character), just like mine, she’s an aquarius, just like me and her planet is Uranus, just like me! You can’t get any more similar to an anime character! If my blood type was B, then we’d be exactly the same! Even her supposed height is the same as mine! (1 meter 75 centimeters) She was the 7th senshi to be introduced to the show and 7 is my lucky number.
The dorama I have been writing about for some time, Last Friends, seems to have been based on Michiru’s and Haruka’s relationship from Sailor Moon. The characters have almost the same names (Ruka is Haruka, and Michiru is Michiru) and apparently, the director is a really big Sailor Moon fan. Both Ruka and Haruka drive motorcycles and both of them have a boyish appearance. No wonder I liked Last Friends!
I love everything about Sailor Uranus, she’s by far, my favorite of all the senshi and her character is just awesome! She and Michiru, (Sailor Neptune) have a really strong bond and they seem to understand each other far more than anyone else. They are really enigmatic and I love that as well! They also seem to share more than friendship towards each other.

As a tribute to Sailor Uranus, my anime soulmate, I made a video myself! I hope I’ve done justice to all Sailor Uranus fans! It took me 4 hours to do it and it’s five minutes long. I hope everyone enjoys it and feel free to rate it and comment! I did my best to sync the music with the clips and I hope that you’ll pick up on that! I’m really proud of the video, and I hope that you all love it as well! Enjoy!
Today was a great day but unfortunately, within a bad month, (In terms of school) full of things to do, I’ll find myself pretty busy soon, but I want to enjoy all my free time while it’s still there!
At around 8:30 it was C.I.P. (Community service) at our school! The group that I volunteered to go with for C.I.P. is one that heads to a shelter with kids that had problems at home and were taken away from their guardians. We head there and help out with the kids and the shelter! It turned out to be a lot more fun than what I expected! The bus had problems, and that cut our 4 hours short, 2 teachers and one student from our group were kind enough to drive us to the place, (Of course, one of the teacher was a sponsor for our group) just so we’d get a 2 hour preview of what we’d be doing for C.I.P. this year. I’m pretty much a neat freak, (If I were to name the Friends character that I’m mostly like, I’d be Monica with not a shadow of a doubt) and I love organization, so instead of helping out with the kids, I stayed with a few others organizing the library they had at the shelter. It turned out to be a lot of fun! Not only did I become more familiar with other students I didn’t know before, but I also had a great time organizing their books and cleaning out the library (With the help of the others, of course). It was pretty rewarding and tiring work. It drained me a little through the day, though.
The rest of the day, when we got back to school was lunch and three more classes. I was pretty tired, but it continued to be a normal day at school. For English class, though, our teacher, Ms. Jackson, told us to pick a popular tune of a song and to change the lyrics around for the vocabulary words to fit in the song, so we’d have to change the lyrics around, more than a few words. My partner, Carole, and I decided to go with Rehab, by Amy Winehouse, and it’s turning out to be fun! The lyrics make sense and I think we’re fitting in the words just fine.
These days, Amy Winehouse has taken over my iPod, I listen to her refreshing jazz the whole time, and so far, my favorites are many, but they are: You Sent Me Flying, Tears Dry On Their Own (A song that even Ms. Jackson likes), Valerie, Fuck Me Pumps, Help Yourself, and Stronger Than Me. She’s so amazing, and I heard that she’s writing her songs for her 3rd studio album that’ll be based off The Wizard of Oz. Maybe it’ll have some light-hearted songs along with the jazz and R&B that only her music can bring to us. I also heard that now she’s practicing some praying that seems to be helping her with her recovery! I can only wish for the best! Amy Winehouse is just awesome and I hate to see her destroy herself.
My day only got better when just now I discovered that Utada Hikaru’s upcoming English album is to be released some day between October and March according to U.Blog, and I believe that it’ll be sooner than 2009 because that was the initial idea, that the album would be released in 2008, but we never know, so I guess we’ll all have to wait & see (Wait & See is also the name an Utada Hikaru song)!
When I got home, I got out my player and listened to Valerie and many other songs in my room for some time while doing my homework and it’s like therapy. Jazz is good for the spirit! To please your own spirit, here is Tears Dry On Their Own!
