The special encore episode for the Last Friends dorama closed the series with a happy ending, but not much is new in the special.
It seems like on year has passed since episode 11 (In the series), and Michiru heads over to the graveyard to light some incense on Sosuke’s grave. She was with cute little one-year old Rumi, and Rumi was wearing the cutest dress while she walked to the grave with Michiru. Apparently, Sosuke’s little friend was there as well, but Michiru didn’t see him. While she’s there, Ogura and Eri arive from Italy and Ogura really wants a haircut because he was embarrassed to cut his hair there, and he asked his friends where Michiru used to work as a hairdresser.
When he got there, we discover why Michiru’s ex-boss kept reading book on domestic violence and why she was at the hospital with a patch on her eye, her boyfriend was also hitting her, and she talks to Ogura about it when he asks why her eye is black. She said there used to be a girl that she worked with, and her boyfriend used to wait for her everyday outside the salon, and she was really jealous, so she turned bitter to the girl.
The rest is basically some scenes that recap the season, the most dramatic moments and the ones that changed the rhythm of the dorama. Then, the phone rings, and Takeru answers. It’s his sister asking if he’s alright. From the beginning of the series until now, Takeru had been avoiding her, but this time, they talked and he told her he’s really happy with his family, and it’s a happiness she wouldn’t understand. He is happy to the point that he said he forgave her, finally.
The special (And the series) ends with everyone together and little Rumi was there too. There were voices in the background of what each of them wanted their future to be like, Michiru and Takeru both completed each others’ thoughts, Takeru said that he wished they would never separate, but if they did, that they’d reunite. The special ends with Michiru’s voice saying in english:
“My dear friends, you are my last friends”

Lately, I have been noticing this change in my personality. I think I’m becoming a lot more outgoing and my shyness is slowly falling behind. I still have my moments but I feel a lot better about myself, about taking risks and exposure. Maybe because I have so many wonderful friends that support me, maybe because I’m being influenced by many different people now, I don’t know, but I like it a lot more than living in a protective shell that I hardly come out of.
I also took my time while I was buying my new school gear to buy a notebook for myself where I’d write down things I’d like to write about! I like poetry, so as soon as I get inspiration, I’ll be doing that in the notebook, and I’ll also be writing whatever comes to mind! It’s kind of HEART STATION in a notebook! It’s also really cute, it’s not as big average-sized notebook, it’s about half the height, and it has an average thickness. The cover is black with Japanese designs of bamboos and a carp, really artistic and inspiring! I believe my first entry to it will be the translated lyrics for Stay Gold, by Utada Hikaru!
These days I’ve been really into a song by Japanese singer Shiina Ringo. The name of the song is 本能 (Pronounced Honnou) and it’s really different from the things I listen to (Usually rhythm and blues) but Shiina Ringo’s voice with the beautiful rock music of 本能 is impossible not to enjoy. Some of her songs are really good too, but from the ones I’ve listened to so far, 本能 is the best.
Ms. Jackson, my English teacher, likes to have a variety of different vocabulary games for us to improve our vocabulary, and between these games is our class favorite, the vocabulary pageant. The game goes like this: you volunteer to either be a contestant, a judge, or the audience. The audience really doesn’t do anything but clap. The judges ask the contestants questions using the words from the vocabulary unit we’re studying, and the contestants have to answer while proving that you know and understand the word. Last time, I was really nervous for it, because I am one of the best English students and I wanted to observe how this pageant went and then ace it on the next pageant. I guess the class really wanted the shy little Alvy to go up there and somehow get comfortable with all the focus. I was the first to be eliminated. But this time, even against my will, (My dreams of becoming Brazil’s next vocabulary model were crushed) I decided I had nothing to lose. I really understood the words, and at the end, I tied with Marina, a friend of mine, and we both got to have crowns and we’re both vocabulary geniuses! I felt a lot more comfortable about going up, like I said, I am gaining a lot more self-esteem and I’m enjoying classes more now!
To celebrate the occasion, here it is! 本能, by Shiina Ringo! Enjoy!

The episode begins with crying sounds, then it’s revealed that Michiru is crying over Sosuke’s body after he committed suicide. The following scenes show Michiru getting her bags (That Sosuke had packed for her) and leaving, she seemed really sad, and her spirit was really down (With reason).
[Spoilers] Ruka wins another race, and in the press conference, she is asked a question about if what the media had published was actually true or not, and Ruka, with the warm incentive of her parents, answered the question really wisely without revealing anything. The episode takes a focus on Ruka for a while and how everyone respects her decisions, how Michiru had disappeared and Ruka felt like she didn’t respect her decision, and that was the reason for her departure. It wasn’t the case, and Takeru answers the phone, it’s Michiru’s mom wanting to talk to her, and she tells Takeru that Sosuke had committed suicide. That night, Takeru and Ruka tell the others about the news, and Eri feels really guilty for telling Sosuke everything she had the day of his death. These bad news are also made even more negative when on the next day, Ogura says he’s moving to Milan with his wife. Eri, like always, does argue with him, but in a way that can be interpreted in two ways: either she wants him to stay, or wants him to leave his wife and just live his life without being such a coward. She exits crying. Michiru had sent a letter to the share house saying not to worry about her, she’s fine and she’s going her own way.
Eri and Ogura work at the same airport, and Eri is looking at the panel where destinations of flights are displayed, really sadly looking at the Milan flight column. Suddenly, she sees a bouquet of red roses and Ogura holding them and screaming to everyone that he can only think about her! The next scene shows the church bells and Eri and Ogura walking in to a beautiful altar. Eri looked amazing and Ruka kept telling her how pretty she looked. This was a happy ceremony, but Ruka and Takeru were left at the lonely share house, with nobody but themselves. It’s then that Takeru gets a motorcycle from Ruka’s coach and he tells Ruka that it’s been wonderful living with her, but there’s a hole in her heart, and he does not want to continue like that, they should fill in that hole together. They went after Michiru!
Michiru had gone to the town where she and her mom lived after she graduated high school, and was recognized by the kind owner of an inn, where she was invited to stay in and work in. Michiru was preparing the rice for the customers when suddenly, she almost threw up with the vapor of the rice. The inn keeper said that she should check if she’s pregnant. Michiru was 5 weeks pregnant, and from Sosuke. She had high blood pressure, though, and she and her baby could be in danger with a rough labor. She kept working there and the inn keeper even said that after Michiru had her baby, she could stay. Michiru was happy, but still wondering where Ruka and Takeru were. The inn keeper also called Michiru’s mother to tell her about the pregnancy, and Michiru was surprised to find her mom in her room when she got to the inn. Her mom tried talking her out of keeping the baby, but after a deep talk with her mother, she discovered that her mother loves her more than she shows, and that she chose to be a single mother just to be with Michiru, helping Michiru with her decision to keep her baby.
Ruka and Takeru went to Michiru’s mother’s house to ask her where Michiru might be, but she had moved out with her husband, and naturally, Ruka suspected that Michiru went to the town she lived in for a while after high school, and they rode there with their motorcycle. When they arrived, they took the whole day asking around for Michiru with a picture, but nobody recognized her. Takeru and Ruka camped at the beach for the night after an exhausting day, and Takeru talked to Ruka about his dark past, with his sister, and Ruka was comprehensive and reaffirmed him that whatever happened doesn’t matter, because he’s really capable of loving, and she says that she’s human proof of it.
They woke up and continued looking, then, a man did recognize her, and told them she’s over at the inn. Ruka and Takeru hurried, and ended up in an accident with a truck. Ruka got hurt, but they were both wearing helmets! So they weren’t that hurt and after Ruka was patched up in no time, and they were back to the streets, only Michiru was also at the hospital checking up on her baby like a responsible mom. The motorcycle had broken down from the crash, and as Takeru was looking around while Ruka fixed it up, he found Michiru heading for the bus. Ruka called her name, and with a tiny smile, Michiru invited them over to her inn.
There, they were all talking about Michiru’s baby, and Ruka invited her back to Tokyo, and Michiru was saying that she didn’t want to go back to that city that so much had happened in. Ruka reached out for her hand and told her that she wanted to care for her baby, even if she can’t be the baby’s father, she’d do the best she could. Takeru also volunteered, and Michiru was so happy that she started to cry. Out of the blue, she begins having contractions, really strong ones, and has to be brought to the hospital. The baby’s birth was premature and she was going into labor.
I felt like crying with the possibility of Michiru’s death. she having a really hard time, and Ruka and Takeru were really frustrated. When the baby was born, a nurse came out running and telling other to do it fast because she’s losing a lot of blood. Michiru woke up, though, and saw her baby girl. Ruka and Takeru couldn’t be happier, and the next scenes show the great time they spent with each other and the baby, named Rumi (“Ru” from Ruka and Takeru and “mi” from Michiru).
“My dear friends, you are my last friends”
This is the quote that Michiru says before we see the share house’s coffee table with a picture of everyone together again, but with baby Rumi held by Michiru.

For the past two weeks, Renato, a classmate that had left Brazil to go to the United States in 8th grade, came back for a visit and yesterday was the day that he invited a few friends over to the mall to have some lunch, maybe watch a movie and buy lots of stuff!
The list of the invited people went a little out of control and suddenly, everyone in school started to invite themselves… Even 11th graders came. This was pretty much what caused the meeting to get so individual, in a way.
At first, everyone was so united and everything was so positive, we were a group of friends having fun and eating together, window shopping and all these great things we do at 12:00 p.m. in a mall. After we all had either Pizza Hut or McDonald’s, we went straight to Starbucks and Bo (Sofy) and I both had their blueberry muffins. They were big, but they were good! We sat on the couches that only Starbucks can provide and talked about many subjects, then we went to Saraiva and looked at the books and CDs while Renato took a look at the pens.
After we got out, we found Pam, but we also found another student from our class at the mall, and this was enough to separate our big, happy group. One group went one way and the other, another way, and I didn’t like it one bit, the whole time I had a frown about what had happened, it wasn’t supposed to happen. Pam had lost her 40 reais (Brazilian currency) and we met up with her father at the movies, and they were going to watch a movie, when we called the other group, they said they didn’t want to go, so we went in ourselves (I had a bigger frown). The movie was fun, with Eddie Murphy and aliens. When we got out of the movies, we saw the whole other group, with even more people, and we were told that Renato was left alone at Copenhagen (Chocolate Store) while we were at the movies, Pamela did not stop apologizing to him (Because we said we’d come back for him, but when we got there, we thought he was with the group we called), but he said she didn’t have to, and even against the protest of the others, he joined us and the others got angry at us and moved on to the movies.
The rest of the day was kind of the day after the battle, we were tired and went to Livraria Cultura after meeting up with Chris and Stephanie and saying goodbye to them. We were comparing prices from Saraiva and Livraria Cultura because I was after Amy Winehouse’s albums Frank and Back To Black (The deluxe edition, of course, because I absolutely love the deluxe edition of albums! Unfortunately, the deluxe edition of Frankie wasn’t available) under recommendation of my good friend, Sofy! We
were looking around, and unfortunately, I miscalculated the price of both and had to borrow some money from Renato. At least I returned most of it! He told me that if I brought him to a certain store, I wouldn’t have to pay that one real (Brazilian currency) that was missing. Why not? Sofy stayed at the store reading her books and unfortunately, listening to the Brazilian version of High School Musical that was on concert on the third floor of the great bookstore/album store/movie store.
When we were back, Sofy had all her focus on the book she was reading, and it was only some time after I had to go. I was punctual with my mother and we went home. I was happy with my purchase and I’m listening to You Sent Me Flying/Cherry from the Frank album. It’s so awesome! She kind of holds a similarity to Christina Aguilera, minus all the controversy out there, so this is always fun!
The other group didn’t even know the whole other group was gone, and this is quite sad, for it wasn’t the point at all.
Last week, for some reason, while I talked to Cary, I asked her if she heard about Wii Fit, since Sofy, Cary and I all have a Wii console, and we love sharing experiences with games. Cary said not only had she heard about it, but she had it and that we should get together some time and practice a little bit of yoga and some other exercises! With such a warm invitation, I was really into it! Yesterday I stayed in school until 5:00 p.m. instead of 3:15 p.m. because I had to wait for Cary’s band practice, and they were really great! The band improved a lot and it sounds really professional now! The bus picks up Cary to bring her home, so I went with her at the bus, and it’s the first time I have been in the school’s bus. It’s a lot more fun talking to other people in your way home or your way to school than just listening to your iPod the whole way and falling asleep in the car. I met two great girls there and we talked the whole way!
When we got to Cary’s house, we said hello to Maggie, Cary’s dog, and then went to the wii to start our workout! Beginning with my disastrous tests, such as my control, my body weight and everything else, at the end of everything, my wii fit age was 29 years old, and it’s kind of embarrassing due to the fact that I’m 14 years old… 15 years of difference is a pretty long time!
Cary’s mom and her aunt came home just when I had finished the tests and together we ate a fresh batch of esfihas (Circular dough with either cheese or meat in the middle) that were really good and a great cake made by Cary’s mother! The company and the food were both perfect! I love going to Cary’s house because her family is just too awesome! I feel right at home!
After eating, Cary and I began the exercises, beginning with some balance exercises that I have to admit, might not have been my strength. Then we came to yoga! I loved yoga through the wii! Everything is so neat and the creators thought about everything! From the weight you’re putting on each leg to where your leg position is! It’s so much fun when you have your friends near too! And yes, the first position I tried was the one on the cover of the game, I thought it would be harder, but I thought I did quite well!
We had a great time going through some peculiar games, but they were all fun and it’s amazing how the balance predicts what you do that is so wrong and that unbalances your posture. After taking turns on the wii and summing it up to 1 hour of exercise (With lots of talking), we went up to Cary’s computer to talk to a few people and then we watched a little bit of A Shot At Love, and I think Cary really liked it! I hope she watches a few episodes to see how it is!
After we took a few pictures, talked to a few people and talked a lot, it was time to go, but it was an awesome way to end an awesome day with an awesome friend! When I was saying goodbye, her mother was nice enough to pack up a little sweet for me to bring home and today I noticed how delicious it was! It was a really positive friday for me!

2008 has been and will still be a a great and busy year for Tila Tequila! With the release of her hit reality show and with the releases of her singles and EPs, Tila Tequila is showing us more and more sides of her and I really like her the more I get to know her through A Shot At Love (Her television show) and through her music (That she writes the lyrics to by herself).
Some time ago, Tila released a brand new EP with remixes for her song, Stripper Friends. The remixes are available at Tila’s Hotspot and iTunes and Tila is really proud of the remixes! The cover art is really beautiful and Tila seems to be really proud of her job!
Another thing that will be coming around in December is Tila Tequila’s first full-length album! I’m really excited, and I’m sure I’ll be ordering it whenever I get the chance! Tila wrote about her upcoming album in her blog recently and she also seemed really eager and excited for its release! Here is what she wrote in her blog:
Hi everyone!

Another thing about Tila is that she’s planning her own show! A Shot At Love will be shot! Only not with Tila as the bachelorette, for she already had her heart broken twice and now she wants to focus on another side of her through a new show she’s working on.
Tila Tequila is working hard for her fans and she always puts them in the first place! She always publishes posts in her blog for her fans and her book, to be published around the same time as her debut album, is to include doubts from her fans about sex, love, and many other things! She’s requesting her fans to e-mail her with their doubts so she can include them in her book! The book will be named Hooking Up With Tila Tequila and the album is to be named Tila Tequila: I HAVE TOURETTE’S.
It’s a really tiring year for Tila, but an exciting one for her fans! (Including me!)
Today was the first official day in high school, and the fact that Sofy isn’t in school anymore has made it a lot harder to go through high school. So much has changed, and I see that my positive outlook on high school was quickly substituted by the thought of the final bell to go home. This isn’t an effect of post-vacation trauma or anything like that, it’s just because the days seem so much longer, I don’t seem to have any inspiration through the day, nothing that made me want to jump out of bed and run to the shower as soon as my eyes were opened. Nothing like that, it just seems like there will only be excessive studying and weighted consciences through the bumpy road of 9th grade.
I don’t even want to think about my grades counting for college now. Before, I always thought that it wouldn’t count until next year, and it is next year, these next 4 years with lots of hard work seem hopeless to me, honestly, I don’t know how I’m going to deal with having my friends all scattered, this new environment, and everything else. I just feel really upset.
Today I made a complete fool out of myself in Math and English class. For math, our teacher, Mr. Takeuti, wanted to test how much we remember since last year, and he decided that he’d put up some questions on the board so we could answer. The easier the question, the worse it gets for me, I get way too nervous and I can’t think right. Of course I had to solve for two squared, after one hour thinking and admitting I wasn’t good at problems being thrown at me, for I get really nervous, I said “16″ I did 2 x 2 and then 4 squared, and then I thought “Wait a minute, this can’t be right” and I began thinking once again for what seemed like 15 minutes, and finally said 8. At least Carole was beside me and she treated me like I was solving any other natural problem and assured me the answer was 8 and I was correct. I felt better, but still really bad, and for the rest of the class, I didn’t open my mouth unless I really needed to, which I didn’t.
For English it wasn’t that serious, but because I really like our teacher, Ms. Jackson, I felt like I could’ve pleased her more with my responses to class. When in our discussion, my group was in charge of answering questions 1 and 2 of the worksheet she handed out, regarding the short story The Lottery, by Shirley Jackson. I began the discussion putting myself out there (Something I usually wouldn’t do if it wasn’t for English class, which I’m good at), because I wanted Ms. Jackson to know that I am a dedicated student and I enjoy English, but it turns out I started out wrong, and the beginning of the story did not count as the second paragraph, so I sounded foolish and she corrected me asking “Is that in the beginning?” I felt really bad for the question and didn’t speak for the rest of the class. Things only got worse when one of my group mates kept asking us if one of the characters died at the end, and no matter what we answered, she still asked Ms. Jackson, and I think this only contributed to her thinking I hadn’t read the story and that I’m irresponsible.
I don’t feel one bit positive about 9th grade, I’ll be hoping for the best, but certainly not expecting it.

Two days ago, I felt a little Kuu-less, so I decided to go to her Brazilian fansite and take a look at what she’s been up to (I love Brazilian fansites because they have so much stuff, from news on the artists, to exclusive information and media) and I found out that KumiBrasil (The Brazilian website I look at for information on Kuu) had uploaded the television version of the Kingdom tour! I love concerts, especially those by Japanese artists that I love so much. The television version of the tour contained an interview with Kumi (Divided into parts through the show) and the complete concert (Except for the interlude videos, unfortunately, they’re one of my favorite parts, especially Kuu’s).
Yesterday I had a chance to watch it, and it’s fantastic. Koda Kumi was able to pull it all together after causing some controversy due to a public statement that she gave, this tour had been cancelled, her official website was brought down, and nobody knew if Koda Kumi’s career was done for. After some time, the Kingdom tour was back! Even though Kuu didn’t want it to. avex (Kuu’s record label) would lose a lot of money, so the show had to go on! The tour followed a heartfelt apology from Kuu about her previous remarks, and it really wasn’t her fault, she, herself, stated that she had heard about what she had said in television before. The tour continued, and it was so great that 4 more dates were added to the tour. After I watched it, it really was that great, no doubt about that, and Kumi was fantastic. No wonder it was so popular.
I’m huge a fan of her Kingdom era, and this tour was all about her Kingdom album, (Released on January the 30th of this year [2008]) and a few of her previous hits. It really was amazing. I wasn’t a huge fan of the ballads that she sang, some were great, and a few weren’t, but overall, in my opinion she surpassed the amazing Black Cherry tour of 2007.
In the beginning, all her dancers and Kumi are wearing a leopard-print shawl and the dancers are wearing hoods. and the setting is a scary castle, with images of Kumi as a vampire appearing on the screen, and whenever she looked somewhere, (The vampire Kumi) there would be an explosion while everyone danced. The tour kicks off with the song Under, and later on, the shawl is dropped to reveal Kumi wearing an Arabian-like outfit for her dance numbers. The TV version’s (Brought by WOWOW) tracklisting for this segment is the following:
<OPENING VIDEO>
Interview: Part 1
Under
FREAKY
Interview: Part 2
Cutie Honey (キューティーハニー)
Interview: Part 3
Himitsu (秘密)
MORE
LAST ANGEL
Interview: Part 4
Then, after the dances and the haunted house setting, Kuu once agains lures us into her mermaid world by coming out from the ground on top of a beautiful white sea-themed piano while a man plays a beautiful masterpiece. Her mermaid dress changed since the last tour and it’s really beautiful now. This is the ballad segment of her tour, and it’s used to distract us from the stage that’s being changed around for the next segment following this one. Kumi sits on a couch placed on the catwalk of the arena and finds a “Special Invitation” on the couch, or as she cutely pronounces with her awesome Japanese accent, “Specharu Inbitation.” She asks one of her dancers to give the “Specharu Inbitation” to one of her fans in the audience so she can sit next to Koda Kumi and choose a ballad for her to sing and sit with her while she sang it. The fan chose you, a ballad off her you single and BEST ~second session~ album. This segment is a lot more personal than the rest, she sits with all her musicians and they play while she sings with her backing vocalist. The songs she chose have a really warm feeling by the way she sounds with all the acoustic instruments. The tracklisting for the TV version is as follows:
Ai no Uta (愛のうた)
Someday
Interview: Part 5
Futari de… (ふたりで…)
you
Kiseki (奇跡)
Interview: Part 6
WIND
Interview: Part 7
After the ballad segment, Kumi changes clothes once again and the new setting is revealed, the creepy castle turned into a beautiful wonderland-like castle and suddenly, we see a cute, bubbly, rag doll-like Kuu come out of the castle. There are little plushie teddy bears sown to her skirt and at one point, as little gifts for her fans, she takes 3 of them and throws them to the audience! The segment begins with WONDERLAND as the first song, then goes to the widely known It’s a small world (It’s a small world, after all.) sang comepletely in English by Kumi and it’s comepletly the soulmate of the segment, the childish and popular song blends right in to the wonderland setting. But then again, Kumi is quite the remixer, so the song has some remixed additions to it that make it really fun! This part of the concert features my favorite songs and my favorite parts of the concert. When Kuu performs Koi no Mahou (恋の魔法), she interacts with the screen behind her, and you can only believe it if you see it, it’s perfect sync, and through that, she fires a cupid’s arrow at one of her male dancers, she kisses a virtual boy represented in the screen and it’s really cute! She also tug-o-wars with one of her dancers! I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s incredible. When she sings girls, it’s amazing how her fans are so committed to her! The trademark of the song it waving a towel, and all her fans were doing that! Kumi then throws her own towel to them when the song ends. This segment is beyond amazing. The tracklisting is as follows:
WONDERLAND
Interview: Part 8
It’s a small world
Rehearsal Scenes
Interview: Part 9
Koi no Mahou (恋の魔法)
anytime
Run For Your Life
Interview: Part 10
Come Over
girls
Interview: Part 11
The next segment has Kumi in a baggy outift, just like like every artist at the end of their concerts. They just love a baggy, comfortable outfit. She looks uber cute with her fashionable pink pumps and her baggy striped blue shirt and overalls and a cute pink hat. Here, she sings dance songs and walks around the catwalk with her dancers greeting her fans and then moves on to a remix of many songs together. After all the remixed goodness of her songs, and a dance-off between boys and girls, she moves on to two sentimental ballads, Moon Crying and walk. She cries in Moon Crying, and it’s really cute, once again, because of the sentimentality of her remarks and controversy. It’s a great ending to a fantastic, beyond words concert. This segment has the following tracklisting:
SHAKE IT UP
BUT
real Emotion
Butterfly
Crazy 4 U
Dance-Off
Dance&Band Member Scenes
Interview: Part 12
Moon Crying
walk
<CLOSING VIDEO>
The outro video includes a behind-the-scenes view of Kumi after the concert and she was crying so much, but it ends when one of the people from her staff cheers her up and she smiles. The concert is amazing, and everything is fantastic. I recommend it to anyone and it’s a concert worthy of 10/10 stars.
